Bloomsburg Women's Soccer Defeats Millersville in Overtime

BLOOMSBURG-Kelly Modes (Langhorne/Neshaminy) scored the game-winning goal eight minutes into the first overtime to give the Bloomsburg University women's soccer team a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Millersville on Wednesday evening.

Millersville broke a scoreless tie in the first period when Kayla Hartley scored to give the Marauders a 1-0 advantage. It would stay that way until the 81 minute mark, when Bloomsburg's Suzie Wade (Watsontown/Warrior Run) lofted a shot over the head of Millersville goalkeeper Jamie Lancaster to tie the game at one.

In the overtime period, Modes scored the game winner when she fired a rebound past Lancaster to break the 1-1 tie.

Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddonfield) led the way for the Huskies in goal, recording three saves.

With the win, the Huskies improve to 7-3 overall, 4-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division.

Bloomsburg returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they host Gannon. That game gets underway at 1:00 p.m.
